Named “Out of the Blue,” the palette of the Cat Cay Residence draws from the vibrant shades of Cat Cay’s sea, connecting residents to the natural beauty surrounding them. Designed with maintainable materials and attention to the Bahamian roots of the area, this home encourages guests to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze.
Serene white and pastel blue walls contrast the vivid colors of the tropical seas and gardens, while Bahamian fixtures, including shutters, porches, breezeways, native keystone, and volume ceilings with wood cladding create an interior that complements the lifestyle of Cat Cay’s waterfront residents. The modern feel of the house is highlighted by the openness of the Great Room, which allows for 20 feet of uninterrupted ocean views and echoed by the dramatic reflecting pool.

Miami’s design language is rooted in our sunny but challenging climate, and somewhat wild nature. It is lighter, brighter, and freer. When desired, it can immerse us in nature while still having protective boundaries from the sun, heat, and storms when needed.
At the heart of our practice is listening: listening to the unique dreams and passions of our clients and weaving their visions into the vibrant tapestry of our dynamic city. The client envisioned a home that was thoroughly modern yet grounded in historical architectural precedents; like many of our projects, 101 Hibiscus was crafted to respect past design traditions while capturing aspirations for the future.
