The Vessel, Wynwood
The Vessel, located in Miami’s colorful Wynwood, is a commercial building designed to host both Entertainment and Food & Beverage venues across three levels of interior retail space in addition to outdoor terraces and a landscaped rooftop. The highly articulated façades integrate large murals alongside architectural surface treatments, mirroring the artistic energy of Wynwood’s Art District.
The façade facing the woonerf on NW First Avenue is punctured by a wide stair and bounded by a concrete escarpment that features pockets of vegetation. The stairs lead visitors to the two upper levels of landscaped terraces, as they pass under a curtain of flowering vines. The design for this project was well received by the city and the neighborhood.

Miami’s design language is rooted in our sunny but challenging climate, and somewhat wild nature. It is lighter, brighter, and freer. When desired, it can immerse us in nature while still having protective boundaries from the sun, heat, and storms when needed.

The client envisioned a home that was thoroughly modern yet grounded in historical architectural precedents; like many of our projects, 101 Hibiscus was crafted to respect past design traditions while capturing aspirations for the future.
