The natural beauty of Coral Gables’ tropical hammock and the shimmering expanse of Biscayne Bay provided the inspiration for the Coral Gables Residence. Inside, a warm, neutral palette is accented by vibrant bursts of color, creating a refined yet distinctly tropical atmosphere. Terrazzo floors and natural wood elements evoke a sense of place, rooted in Florida’s architectural heritage.
Blues and greys in the carpets and custom light fixtures echo the changing tones of the ocean, while bold accents reflect the vivid hues found in lush tropical gardens. The furniture layout is thoughtfully designed to maximize the panoramic bay views offered by the glass façade, all while fulfilling the client’s programmatic needs.
Miami’s design language is rooted in our sunny but challenging climate, and somewhat wild nature. It is lighter, brighter, and freer. When desired, it can immerse us in nature while still having protective boundaries from the sun, heat, and storms when needed.
At the heart of our practice is listening: listening to the unique dreams and passions of our clients and weaving their visions into the vibrant tapestry of our dynamic city. The client envisioned a home that was thoroughly modern yet grounded in historical architectural precedents; like many of our projects, 101 Hibiscus was crafted to respect past design traditions while capturing aspirations for the future.
