Courtyard House

Recognized by AIA Miami and the Miami Design Preservation League, the Pancoast Residence on North Bay Road involved careful restoration of a 1928 Moorish Revival house and the addition of a "treehouse" studio.

Parasol House, named for the concrete parasol shading the house, is a modern take on a courtyard house typology consisting of three sequential courtyards, each with its own unique character: the Tree Court, the Rain Court, and the Water Court.

The interiors of Parasol House are characterized by a sense of permeability between indoor and outdoor spaces, providing views of all three courtyards and the waterfront.

88 La Gorce’s architectural plan drew inspiration from the layout of Carl Fisher’s 1926 Estate with the main house opening up to a courtyard with views of Indian Creek and guest pavilion.
